BDLA Show Description and Voting FAQ
Batalla de las Americas musical reality television series is a talent search for a male member of XM2, a Latin music band. Vying for the forth (4th) band member position are 21 Contestants, from all over North, South and Central America. During the auditions held over the last year, these 21 talented young men each performed to be chosen to represent their country or voted in by the internet audience on "Audition on the Net" at www.esmiplaneta.com.
The wild-popularity of these auditions stunned the seasoned entertainment veterans who created The Battle of the Americas music reality show! Over 25,000 young men auditioned in each of their 16 country's-of-origin, and via the internet to garner a spot for their chance at world stardom. Over the coming 13 episodes, you, the viewing audience will determine which one is the BEST MALE SINGER FROM ACROSS THE AMERICAS and ultimate complete XM2 the New Latin Kings of Rock!
The winner will be selected during the show's thirteen episodes (June 28-September 20). The Host, Johnny Lozada, will instruct the audience how to cast votes to choose the winning Finalists by mobile text (P-SMS) and on the Latin internet portal, www.esmiplaneta.com, which is the presenting sponsor.
The three celebrity judges are; Maria Conchita Alonso, Julio Iglesis Jr. and Erika Ender. Judges provide feedback based on the level of talent exhibited during each performance. Votes cast by the Public for a each Contestant improves their ranking in the contest each episode.
Eliminations begin on Show #10, thus and each following episode narrowing the field, the addition of a "spoiler" from the pool of eliminated contestants is determined on episode 12, by public voting resulting 12 Finalists, in episode 13 within the first 20 minutes 4 are eliminated, within the first 60 minutes another 4 are eliminated, leaving 4 finalists. The winning Finalist will be selected by the three members of XM2. Rules and procedures are subject to change at producers' discretion without notice.

Q. How does the voting work?
All votes will accumulate from episode 1 to episode 12 for each contestant.
Eliminations begin on episode 10. The lowest 6 vote-getters will be
eliminated on episode 10. Episode 11 the lowest 5 vote-getters are
eliminated Show 12, 2 of the eliminated are voted back by the viewing
and internet audience. The final 13th episode will narrow the field of
12 to the 4 eligible Finalists. The winner will be selected by the 3 members
of XM2. Rules and procedures are subject to change at producers' discretion
without notice.
Q. How do I vote?
To vote, simply watch "Batallas de las Americas" each (see your local listings
for times in your area) and use the Keyword shown on screen (the contestant's
name) for whom you wish to vote. You can vote either by SMS text message
subject to your local carrier, or by the internet on
www.esmiplaneta.com.

SMS Mobile Text Voting:
Using the Shortcode broadcast during each episode for the country you're in
(as the text address) and text any Contestant Keyword (as the message) then

(IE: if the contestants name is Juan and his code was 12345; you would text
"JUAN" to "12345").
Q. When can I vote?
Voting will open with each performance show and extend until Midnight
Tuesday. Results of the vote will be revealed in the following episode,
starting with Show 3. Rules and procedures are subject to change at
