Raúl Ramírez - Venezuela

Born April 16th, 1982, in Caracas, Venezuela, Raul showed musical abilities from a very young age. He would sing and play drums with any kitchen utensil he could get his hands on. Unfortunately, his parents didn't share his same passion for music, so he spent most of his time practicing other activities.

When he was 14 years old, his school music professor formed a band to play at the New Year’s Eve Pageant and they needed a drummer. Raul, anxious to be part of a band, jumped at the opportunity and tried out. Raul had never owned a drum set, but he was passionate about music and he was chosen for the band. His parents saw him play in the Pageant and were amazed at what he could do so they bought him his own drum set.

After spending some time as a drummer and in the chorus for several local bands, he decided to try out for Candy 66, one of the most popular hard rock bands in Venezuela. Unfortunately, he was finishing up college at the time and couldn’t join the band. Upon finishing his college degree, Raul took up music again but was unable to find another good project that caught his eye so he tried his luck at the guitar and vocals. He wrote his own songs, something he currently does with his band Casanova´s. He’s the lead vocalist and he writes their songs. His music style is considered a fusion between pop-rock-ballad-electronic.

Raul Ramirez is representing Venezuela in “Batalla de las Americas”
