Sebastian Soto - Chile
Sebastian Soto was born on January 27th 1986 in Santiago, Chile. From a very tender age he displayed his musical gift. At the age of 8 he won his first voice contest and since then has been a part of numerous musical groups. One group that was particularly instrumental in developing Sebastian as an artist was the forklore school band he joined in 1997. It was with that band that he learned how to play several musical instruments such as the guitar, drums, and other percussion instruments.
In 1999, he joined a well known Latin folklore band “Fuego Andino” (Andino fire). They played throughout Chile, sharing the stage with bands like Illapu, Los Jaibas, and Inti Illimani. In this band Sebastian sung vocals and played drums, percussion and guitar. After five years in the band Sebastian decided to take private vocal lessons with singer Constanza Dominguez. This is where his solo career took off. He performed at private parties, bars, and clubs. He also had a part in the play TELETON in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2006, Sebastian performed his first concert in the Illustrious Municipal Auditorium for the Granja Community. This was his opportunity to show the audience his diversity as an artist and they loved it.
Today, Sebastian is a student at the Distinguished Academy “Alicia Puccio” (2008-2009) where many national artists such as Miriam Hernandez, Daniela Castillo y Luis Jara have attended.
With his unique charisma, diverse background, and passion for music, Sebastian is a diamond in the rough who is more than willing to give his all to be able to represent Chile in the “Battle of the Americas”.
