Francisco Strippoli - Venezuela

Francisco Enrique Strippoli Navas, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on September 11th, 1990. From a very early age he was attracted to music and acting. He´s very professional and, as any good Virgo, he is very perfectionist. He’s also a good son, brother and friend.

In High School he was known for taking the lead singing roll in every cultural event hosted by his school.

Fran, as his close friends call him, is also an actor. Since 2007 he has been with the theatrical group known as “Nueva Era” (New Age), founded by Romano Rodriguez. Fran has also had the opportunity to join the casts of “Un viaje Mental” (A Mental Voyage), “Pechos de Niña” (Girl´s Breasts), and “Melocoton a Rojo alucinante” (Hallucinating Red Apricot). Since 2005 he has taken part in shows such as “Gente Nueva” (New People) and the teen show “Somos tu y yo” (It´s you and me).

Today, Fran is an Art major in his 4th semester at Central University of Venezuela, where he was named the official winner of the Ucevista (Urban) Voice 2008.

This very talented young Venezuelan hopes to one day get to be a very recognized singer in his country and around the world. In an effort to achieve that, he spends most of his time practicing, drawing his inspiration from musicians such as Mariah Carey, Cristian Castro, Luis Fonsi, and Luis Miguel, among others.

“You must have talent in order to stay alive in a competition like this” said Fran. He will also be counting on his country´s support in the Battle of the Americas contest, and he has said that he has gotten a lot of experience by participating in these auditions. He feels he has grown as an artist, but will still remain human until his time comes. For now, he thanks God, his mother and his manager who have supported him every day in his projects, working hard in order to fulfill his great dream.

1. Do you like to sing in the shower?

2. If you could trade places with somebody, who would you do it with?

As an Actor, the Mexican Gael Garcia Bernal, and as a singer I would trade places with David Bisbal, they are extraordinary in their respective fields.

3. When you were a kid, what did you used to do to make your mother angry?

I didn’t like school

4. What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?

I was singing during my graduation ceremony when suddenly the music stops and I had to finish the song acapella.

5. What are you most afraid of?

The Dark

6. What was one of the happiest times in your life?

The day I found out I had been awarded the Mayre Martinez scholarship

7. Did you have a nickname when you were a kid? And what was it?

Checo (when I was a kid) and Franchus (from my teen years until now)

8. If you could ask for one wish, what would it be?

I would very much like to sing with Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera in Spanish.

9. What place would you like to visit?

Italy

10. If you where to be stranded on a deserted island, what book, movie, person and/or food would you take with you?

Any book by Paulo Coelho; movie: 13 going on 30; person: my ex-girlfriend; and food: lots of sushi
