Daniel SalomonDaniel Salomón - Honduras
Daniel Salomon was born on July 26th, 1981 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. At an early age he was introduced to the “science sport” of Chess, winning his first tournament at the age of 10. He then discovered his singing abilities during his teens and jumped on every opportunity to sing at family gatherings. Due to the lack of support available at the time for musicians, he decided to stay with chess, leaving his singing only as a hobby.
Daniel won several chess tournaments during High School and College and has represented his country in numerous Central American Chess Tournaments. He was also part of the Honduran national chess team and represented his country in the 35th World Chess Olympics that took place in Bled, Slovenia in 2002.
He graduated as an Industrial Engineer from the National Autonomous University of Honduras in 2004. He practiced as an Engineer for three years but he was always in search of that one shot at his passion, music.
In 2008 Daniel decided to try his luck in music and hopefully fulfill his dream of having a successful music career. In preparation, he took singing, dancing and acting classes. In May, he auditioned in Panama for the “Latin American Idol” contest. He only made it to the second round of auditions. Later that year he auditioned for the reality show “Batalla de las Américas” and earned the opportunity to represent his country in this new TV show.
